2010 SUMMER DANCE PROGRAMS
FLAMENCO classes with DINA FADEYEVA are back for the summer!
Classes begin Monday, June 28 and run for 8 weeks through August 16. This
is a
Beginner Level class open to all dancers age 16+. Email
linda@ballet-academy to enroll.
FEE FOR THE

WEEKS IS $160 – or -- $25 per class if not

CREATIVE
MOVEMENT For
children two years old on or before July 1
TUESDAY,

a.m. --- 9 classes total
A 30 minute class with maximum enrollment of
8 children. The class uses imaginative, fun musical activities to build
strength, flexibility, and body awareness; and improve gross motor skills,
coordination, and posture. Special musical activities help develop a child's
sense of rhythm and an awareness of the rich language of music. Includes floor
work; basic, introductory tumbling and other mat work; and large movements
across the floor. Children also learn to share space, time, and attention with
classmates. Curriculum based on Leap 'n Learn Syllabus.
FEE FOR THE NINE
WEEKS IS $75 – or -- $10 per class if not enrolling for the full 9 weeks.

with maximum enrollment of 12 children. The
class continues the fun and imaginative activities of Leap ‘n Learn
Curriculum described above in Creative Movement; and goes on to introduce
pre-ballet, pre-tap, and basic tumbling and acrobatic skills.
Parents are invited to observe the final class.
FEE FOR THE NINE WEEKS IS $115 – or - $15 per class if not enrolling for the
full 9 weeks.
DANCE SAMPLER
For children ages 5 – 8. Must be five
years old by September 1
TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND
THURSDAY, JULY 6 - 8, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. -- or --
TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 - 5, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. --- 3 classes total
An
opportunity for your child to sample ballet, acrobatics, and tap dance in age
appropriate formats and curriculum.
All Dance Samplers are beginner level -- no previous dance training is
required.
FEE FOR THE SAMPLER IS $50.
A SIP OF THE NUTCRACKER
For children ages 5 – 8. Must be five by
July 1
MONDAY - FRIDAY, JULY 12 - 16,
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. --- 5 classes total ---
No previous ballet
training is required.
Students will learn the perennial favorite Nutcracker variations “Tea /
Chinese,” “Chocolate / Spanish,” and “Coffee / Arabian.” Concludes
with a performance Friday, July 16, 5:30 p.m.
FEE FOR THE WORKSHOP IS

BALLET MINI INTENSIVE
For children ages 5 – 7. Must be five
years old by July 1
MONDAY - THURSDAY, JULY 19 -
29, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. --- 8 classes total ---
Beginner level - no
previous ballet training is required. Students will study the foundations of Vaganova ballet technique
in a fun and age appropriate format that includes a ballet workbook and learning
about The Firebird Ballet.
FEE FOR THE INTENSIVE IS
$130 – or - $70 for the first week only.
ACROBATICS
WORKSHOP

For
children ages 6 and up. Must be six by July 1
JULY 19 - 30, MONDAY – FRIDAY,
9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Beginner
level students will develop basic tumbling and acrobatic skills. Intermediate
and advanced level students will develop partner circus skills and work with
props and acrobatic equipment.
Final class is a demonstration class
for parents on Friday, July 30.
FEE FOR THE TWO-WEEK WORKSHOP IS $180 or $100 for ONE WEEK.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR
ALL SUMMER DANCE PROGRAMS
For all summer classes, payment is due upon
enrollment to hold class placement.
Payment can be made by check, money order, or
cash. We do not accept credit cards; bank fees are much too high for a small
business. We could not keep our tuition rates reasonable if we paid all the fees
on credit card transactions.
All class/workshop
placement is at Director’s discretion. Partial enrollments are accepted ONLY if
indicated under FEE INFORMATION at the end of each class or workshop
description. Classes missed for vacation or illness may be made up during this
summer program. Cancellations after June 1 will be given tuition credit only;
and will be considered ONLY if an unexpected, documented medical
condition prevents the student from participation in a workshop. Workshops and
classes not meeting minimum enrollment requirements are subject to cancellation
and all deposits will be refunded.
BALLET INTENSIVES
BEGINNER I BALLET

upon enrollment to hold workshop placement, with the balance due by June 29.
BEGINNER II / III BALLET INTENSIVE

4 WEEKS, JULY 6 – 31. For
dancers who have completed Beginner I Ballet.

Children’s class will learn Hawaiian and Maori style dances, including the Poi
dance.
Adult class will learn Hawaiian, Maori, and Tahitian style dances. Both classes
will learn prop-making for their dances.
FEE FOR THE 8 CLASSES IS $120 --- OR $75 FOR THE FIRST 4 WEEKS.
JAZZ
TEEN / ADULT JAZZ

TUESDAY, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. JUNE 22
through AUGUST 17
This one-hour class emphasizes lyrical,
Broadway-style jazz, using the world-renowned Luigi Syllabus as its foundation.
Class structure is similar to a ballet class, beginning with a warm-up to
increase flexibility, strength, and coordination; and emphasize proper body
alignment. Center work combinations, jazz turns, and large movement locomotor
combinations across the floor complete the class.
FEE FOR THE 9
CLASSES IS $150, due upon enrollment to hold class placement, OR $20 PER CLASS.
